Warehouse · Racks · Fill rate
Your racks seen from the front,
cell by cell
Describe a rack — label, bays, levels — and GSE-Web creates the matching grid and locations. Each cell shows its products and its fill rate, in colour.
No need to draw the warehouse by hand to know where there is room left.
Rack A
In short
The rack plan is an optional GSE-Web module: you describe a rack (bays × levels), the application creates its locations, then draws the rack from the front with, for each cell, the number of products and the fill rate.
- A rack has up to 100 bays and 20 levels; before anything is written, the simulation announces the locations to create, those to link and any conflicts.
- The fill rate uses the same formula as the gauge on the Locations page; with no product quota, the cell shows “—”, never a false 0 %.
- A cell can be unavailable (no stock can be received), reserved or blank; neighbouring cells can be merged.
- The module is opened on request; editing a plan requires the warehouse management right.
- For large warehouses: import your site's SVG plan and place location and rack markers on it, showing occupancy and load live.
For large warehouses
Your site in SVG, your racks placed on it
Import your warehouse's SVG plan, then place markers on it: each rack or location shows its occupancy, load and status live, right where it really is.

Import your plan
The drawing comes from your drawing tool or your design office, as an SVG file. It is stored in GSE-Web; replacing it with a new version keeps all your markers.
Place your markers
Add a location or a rack, drag it into place, pull its corner to resize it. One marker per location and per rack, up to 500 per plan.
Read occupancy and load
A location marker shows the same measures as a rack cell: products, quantity, occupancy rate, load. A rack marker summarises its cells: average occupancy and highest load. One click opens the detail.
Text only, over the drawing
A marker can lose its background: only its text is drawn over your plan, with a white halo to stay readable. Handy to name aisles, docks and zones without hiding the drawing.
🛡️ A safe drawing, a clear refusal
GSE-Web only accepts drawings without active content: a file that embeds a script, a remote image or an external resource is refused with a precise message, never silently “cleaned”. Export it again as plain SVG from your drawing tool.
📐 No plan at hand?
Download a sample warehouse plan from the “Site plan” tab and place your first markers in minutes.
🏭 Availability
The site plan is included from the TEAM plan. The PRO plan tries the racks plan without a site plan.
The drawing is a background: you place the markers, GSE-Web does not try to guess your locations in the drawing.
Three steps, one rack ready
From a described rack to a readable rack, without leaving GSE-Web.
Describe
Pick the warehouse, create a plan, then “Generate a rack”: label, number of bays, number of levels and code pattern (A-01-01 by default). “Simulate” shows what will be created or linked.
Read
The rack reads from the front: bay 1 on the left, level 1 at the bottom. Each cell carries its code, its number of products and its rate, in the matching colour; touching a cell opens its detail.
Act
Link an existing location, mark a cell unavailable or reserved, merge cells, measure the load, then export the image.
What the rack plan brings
Six functions to go from a list of locations to an overview.
Rack generator
One description, all the locations: an existing location with the same code is linked, never duplicated nor silently moved.
Fill rate in colour
Green up to 50 %, yellow up to 80 %, orange up to 100 %, red beyond. The rate is computed by the server, like the locations gauge.
Cell states
Unavailable: the location refuses any stock receipt and says so in the selection lists. Reserved: a simple marker. Blank: a gap in the rack, with no text.
Merged cells
A pallet over two bays, a location over two levels: merge cells, split them later. A location holding stock is never removed from the plan.
Estimated load
Set a maximum load per location: GSE-Web estimates the load from quantities and the weight entered on the product sheet, and flags when a weight is missing.
Site plan and export
Import your site's SVG drawing, place movable markers on it (locations or racks), then export the plan as a PNG image to share it.
Try it, then scale up
The rack plan is an optional module, opened on request for your organisation.
PRO plan: a bounded trial
1 plan, 1 rack and 30 cells at most, without site plan.
TEAM and above
No ceiling on plans, racks or cells, site plan included.
If the “Rack plan” entry does not appear in the Warehouses menu, the module is not open for your organisation.
See your racks like on a plan
A 30-minute video call is enough to describe one of your racks and read its fill rate.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to redraw my warehouse?
No. A rack is very regular: you give its label, bays and levels, and GSE-Web produces the grid and the locations. If your codes are irregular, you link an existing location to each cell by hand.
Does the fill rate work without quotas?
The rate is computed from the per-product quotas set on locations. Without a quota, the cell shows the number of products and the quantity, and “—” instead of the rate: GSE-Web never invents a percentage.
What is an unavailable cell?
A cell that is out of service or set aside: its location refuses any new stock receipt as long as it is. Stock already there can still be issued, and gaps found by a stocktake are never blocked.
Who can edit a plan?
Accounts that manage warehouses, with the right to edit locations. Reading follows the module and the account's warehouse scope.
Which plan can I import?
A drawing in SVG format: the export from your drawing tool or design office, up to 2 MB. Drawings that contain a script or an external resource are refused; export them again as plain SVG. A sample plan is offered to try.
